The Gamesys Foundation are supporting Grief Encounter’s counselling programme, helping to provide essential therapeutic support to bereaved children following the death of a parent or sibling. Every year, over 41,000 children in the UK experience the death of a parent or sibling. Grief Encounter supports bereaved children through some of the worst days of their lives, providing over 5,000 one-to-one counselling sessions every year using art and play therapy and talking therapy to help bereaved children process their loss and their grief.

Sadly, 1 in 10 of the children supported by Grief Encounter are bereaved by suicide. The Gamesys Foundation are funding Grief Encounter’s “Bereavement by Suicide” support group helping parents whose partners have died by suicide and who now find themselves as lone parents, navigating their grief and their new lives alongside their bereaved children.
