An adult is reported missing every 4 minutes in the UK. Up to 80% of the 100,000 adults reported missing each year have mental health problems, which can worsen the longer they are missing. We have seen the number of vulnerable adults contacting our Helpline rise by almost 20% in 2020 as the impacts of lockdown were felt.

Gamesys Foundation are making a significant contribution towards frontline support for adults in crisis.

Launch Live Chat support for adults in crisis

Our confidential and accredited services give adults the opportunity to talk through how to stay safe, connect them with a place of safety, and signpost them to additional local or national support services. With the support of Gamesys Foundation we will be able to provide this support through Live Chat, a channel which we know that there is already significant demand for.

Free, confidential Helpline support for missing adults (available 7 days a week)

Our Helpline crisis team deal with incredibly varied and complex issues. The highly trained team deal with issues on a daily basis including mental health, suicide, homelessness and dementia related disappearances. This essential service is reliant on public donations to continue.

Reach adults in their moment of crisis

The donation from Gamesys Foundation will also enable Missing People to expand how we reach out to adults reported missing, who don’t know where to turn, and who may be suicidal. At Police request, a supportive text message is sent to a missing person’s phone offering the charity’s support. It lets them know how to reach crisis support, free of charge, from a confidential charity.

We are proud to partner with Gamesys Foundation to create positive impact for missing adults in crisis.

We look forward to working together to provide essential support to adults in crisis, and to raise awareness of the issue across staff and customers. This kind of backing and support is never more needed. Thank you.”
