Scotty’s Little Soldiers supports children and young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces.

The charity was founded in 2010 by war widow Nikki Scott, following the death of her husband in Afghanistan in 2009 and after seeing the devastating impact on their two young children.

The £15,000 grant towards bereavement resources from the Gamesys Foundation will help Scotty’s Little Soldiers provide bereaved British Forces children and young people with a tailored bereavement support service that allows them to explore their grief, share their stories, remember deceased loved ones, reconnect with the military community, and learn effective coping strategies to significantly improve their long-term emotional and mental health.

Thank you so much to the Gamesys Foundation for this incredible grant, which will help us to give our members access to the information and guidance they need about a wide range of bereavement related matters, specifically targeted at issues facing bereaved service families. This support will help remind the children of our fallen heroes that they are not alone.”
